About Dr. Sharma

Born and raised in Joliet, Dr. Sharma graduated from Joliet West High School in 1993 before continuing his education at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Through an accelerated program integrating engineering and medicine, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in three years and completed medical school at the University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School in 2000.

Dr. Sharma completed a rotating internship in surgery and internal medicine at Lutheran General Hospital, followed by an anesthesiology residency at RUSH Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center. In 2004, he completed fellowship training in interventional pain management at the University of Michigan.

As a co-founder of Pain & Spine Institute, Dr. Sharma brings extensive experience in evaluating and treating complex pain conditions for patients in Joliet and the surrounding Chicago suburbs.
